Growing up in London made it easy for me to complete the full time Horology Course at Hackney in 1986. This was the last year they ran the extended course, and it just managed to run with only seven of us! Here I was awarded a Hackney college prize and a British Horological Institute prize. After qualifying I became the first person to be awarded a sponsored three year training placement with a "master craftsman". This bursary was given by the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers. less
