About the Business

Our extensive restoration process is undertaken in our workshops, as the process that we use is not suitable to be carried out at the customers’ homes. This allows for a full restoration of the bath to take place which includes the Waste, Overflow & Tap areas; achieving a long and durable life once complete. The restoration takes approximately four weeks to complete, allowing each section of the process to cure thoroughly before entering the next stage.

We have developed a wealth of knowledge through restoring and renovating baths since our inception and all the baths we supply can be fitted with the modern day plumbing equipment, and compliment perfectly our range of traditional china and brassware options.

We have successfully worked with historic building trusts, architects, designers, builders, plumbers, house restorers, privately owned Hotels, along with numerous private customers working on their own restoration projects.

Established in 1991 to rescue and restore original antique baths dating from the 1880’s, Antique Bathrooms showrooms and workshops were originally sited in an 18th century mill, on the River Erme, in South Devon. After a change of ownership in December 2013, the showroom was relocated to new premises in Marlborough, Wiltshire, we also amended the trading name to coincide with this move; our restoration and storage facility remains in Ivybridge.

In January 2016, following re-investment from previous owners, we have re-opened the Ivybridge showroom which has taken us full circle in offering full showroom & restoration facilities throughout the South West. The showrooms offer a full range of fully restored original cast iron baths and traditional accessories catering for the South and South West, along with excellent transport links from London, Midlands and Wales.

The company offer a full UK nationwide ‘door to door’ delivery service, using our own vehicle or carefully selected logistics partner, ensuring a safe delivery of your bath & accessories.

Bath Restoration

We provide a thorough bath restoration service for customers own baths. We use only the best materials to restore your bath. Our local craftsmen are extremely proud of their work, taking a minimum of four weeks to complete each restoration.

All restorations are carried out at our Ivybridge workshops as our process and attention to detail is not suitable to be carried out with the bath remainining in situ; this is due to allowing sufficient curing time at each part of the restoration process, which in turn results in a more durable and longer lasting finish.

We offer a full range of exterior colours, from the leading brands including Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Fired Earth, & Dulux, customers can even supply their own paint, allowing you to personalise your bath. We recommend that a Traditional Oil based paint is used for the exterior as these are unlikely to fail due to the moisture your original cast iron bath will retain.
