Hawthornes French Polishing has been an established Birmingham company since 1988. In over 25 successful years of business we have provided the services of french polishing, antique restoration, modern spray lacquering, desk leather replacement and re-upholstery to domestic and trade customers alike.
1999 saw the founding of Hawthornes Floor Restorations. Our expertise finds us restoring floors from a school hall to an entrance hall, all of which are given the same attention to detail as any piece of furniture.
In 2006 came the opening of Hawthornes online antique shop. Here can be found selected, quality items of antique furniture presented in pristine condition ready to grace any home.

French Polishing: Any piece of furniture, modern or antique, that is in regular use cannot escape the wear and tear of daily life. When the need arises Hawthornes can provide the expertise to restore your furniture to its former glory.
Furniture Restoration: Through natural use and sometimes unfortunate events your furniture may need attention. Ring marks, impact damage, water, burns and burglary damage are all areas of expertise we can help with.

I wanted to send you a photograph of your (its mine now!) lovely dressing table thats been placed in our master bedroom. The dressing table sits perfectly with my existing decor and the colour looks absolutely lovely, I’m so glad I took the risk of choosing non-white. Not so much Shabby Chic, more just Chic. This furniture looks so much better quality than the usual hand painted pieces that you see on so many other sites, love it!
